The actress admitted she was “obsessed” with doing everything correctly because she wanted to prevent the possibility of divorce. However, she later realized that trying to control every outcome was not a healthy approach to love.
“I think you need to sort of accept this and surrender to the possibility that anything can happen,” Mendes said. “Like, you really don’t know. And in a way that’s sort of like liberated me.”
