Hulk Hogan left behind nearly $5 million when he passed away in July at the age of 71. His estate went entirely to his son Nick Hogan, making him the sole beneficiary. The exclusion of Brooke Hogan drew attention, yet she revealed the move was expected and even requested.
In a recent interview, Brooke, 37, clarified her stance. “His choice doesn’t surprise me. It’s what I wanted, and I stand by that without regret,” she shared. She added that her father had always known she worked hard and had lived independently of his financial support for many years.
A Decade of Distance
Brooke once shared the spotlight with Hulk, appearing in the VH1 reality show “Hogan Knows Best” before launching her own spin-off, “Brooke Knows Best”. She also made appearances alongside her father at WWE-related events.

However, the relationship between father and daughter shifted over the past decade. Hulk became entangled in several controversies, including his widely debated speech at the 2024 Republican National Convention in support of Donald Trump. During that time, Brooke stepped back and focused on her personal life and career.
In 2018, Brooke entered a new chapter when she launched her own interior design business. Since then, her personal life has blossomed as well. She married retired NHL player Steven Oleksy in 2022, and earlier this year, the couple welcomed twins.
Her decision to remove herself from her father’s will reflects her independence and the life she has built on her own terms.
Legal Battles Surrounding Hulk’s Legacy
While Brooke made peace with the estate decision, her brother Nick faced legal challenges soon after. He and Terry McCoy, Hulk’s longtime friend and curator of the estate, filed a restraining order against radio personality “Bubba the Love Sponge” Clem.
The legal move came after Clem attempted to feature Hulk’s infamous sex tape in his new documentary “Video Killed the Radio Star.” The restraining order, filed in early September in Pinellas County, Florida, temporarily blocked Clem from using the footage.

Court records reveal that Hulk had previously settled with Clem in 2012. As part of that settlement, Clem surrendered the rights to the tape, which Hulk later registered with the U.S. copyright office to prevent further distribution.
Following the order, eight seconds of footage were cut from the documentary, and the producers assumed full liability for the venue hosting its premiere.
Brooke Hogan’s Independent Path
Brooke’s response to her father’s will underlines her self-reliance. She built her career, nurtured her family, and distanced herself from the controversies surrounding Hulk. While Nick manages the estate, Brooke has chosen to create a legacy defined by resilience and personal growth.
Her words highlight her perspective, financial independence, and self-determination matter more than inheritance. For Brooke, forging her own path remains the greatest victory.
